Our approach will help develop your understanding in a range of management disciplines as well as equip you with the leadership skills to progress your career. Our MBA is designed to prepare you for the challenges of management, exposing you to the latest thinking in business across a variety of sectors within an international context. You will engage with key management disciplines including financial and economic analysis, strategy and innovation, managing and developing people, global marketing management, operations and supply chain management, and cross-cultural management and ethics.
Fundamental to our approach is a focus on both theory and practice. You will engage in activities from lectures, workshops, talks from visiting speakers alongside the opportunity to work on a field-based consulting project. Your final project will allow you to further develop your consulting skills, write a business plan or engage in a more traditional academic report. Our strong emphasis on your personal and leadership development will be supported by regular sessions to develop your skills in a wide range of areas from communication and negotiation to team-building and leadership.
Some workshops will be set in place, others will be chosen by you. During this course, you will study the core modules plus an online elective as well as your final Business Transformation Project. In addition, you will have a field-based Consulting Project and are required to pass a module in Personal and Professional Development which is designed to support your leadership aspirations.
As well as competence and a comprehensive overview of the subject, you will also gain a thorough understanding of the disciplines central to management. You will have the skills to prepare you for taking your career to the next level. In Term 1 and Term 3, you will study all modules on campus. However, in Term 2, you can choose between studying all three on-campus modules in the second term OR two on-campus modules plus one online elective.

This module will give you the knowledge, skills and theoretical understanding in a number of strategic aspects of financial management and economics.
You will understand how they affect commercial organisations and also examine the interrelationships between key factors in the economic environment. You will evaluate the impact of shifts and changes in these factors on organisational decision-making and performance.
This module aims to raise awareness in the key areas relevant to effective people management and development. You will explore how these relate to the achievement of business and organisational goals and strategies.
Marketing management involves satisfying customer needs and desires. In a globally competitive marketplace, the challenge is to select which markets to compete in, to make an integrated set of decisions about product and service design, pricing as well as distribution channels.
You must also make considerations to advertising, branding, and promotions. You will also cover both planning and control perspectives. In order to navigate our complex, globalised environment, we need an understanding of the core values and norms of any organisation, the impact of policies and practices on all stakeholders and how to operate in a multi-cultural environment.
This module is designed to provide you with the critical tools and mindset to analyse and identify responses to such challenges. This module aims to develop your systematic knowledge and skills for understanding the complexity of the new digital landscape.
This will focus on the use of e-marketing models, social media and e-tailing to produce a coherent digital marketing strategy. The project will culminate in a final consulting-type presentation outlining key recommendations. This module allows you to further develop and integrate the skills and knowledge acquired during the course by working on a specific organisational issue or problem.
Optional modules are not offered on every course. If we have insufficient numbers of students interested in an optional module, or there are staffing changes which affect the teaching, it may not be offered.
If an optional module will not run, we will advise you after the module selection period when numbers are confirmed, or at the earliest time that the programme team make the decision not to run the module, and help you choose an alternative module.

Distinctive to the MBA, your learning experience will include a mixture of formal lectures, case study discussions, guided and independent research, workshops, debates, and student presentations alongside simulations and role plays. We use a variety of methods to develop your cognitive and practical skills alongside assessing your understanding of key concepts and theoretical knowledge.
Group work is also used to develop your capacity for working in teams and thereby providing a realistic organisational context for you to develop your own interpersonal skills and test your own capacity for teamwork and leadership. MSc Applied Psychology We welcome applications from graduates with a good honours degree, or equivalent qualification, in an appropriate subject. MSc Computer Network Management A second class honours degree UK or an equivalent overseas qualification in computer science or networks, or in a field that provided significant exposure to IT, for example, management, business, mathematics, science or engineering. We also accept applicants with degrees in other fields who can demonstrate relevant industrial experience combined with extensive IT background.
MSc Project Management Applicants will be expected to have a good honours degree 2nd class Honours or above or equivalent in an engineering based discipline. Graduates from other related disciplines may also be admitted to the programme after interview. Preference will be given to graduates with industrial experience. In addition candidates will have such qualities as being creative, proactive and having a desire to engage with the curriculum, and be able to think as an individual but able to work in a team.
Candidates should be able to show a keen interest in engineering in all its aspects.
